"Compass": 9 p.m. Thursday and repeats at 12:30 p.m. Sunday; Pioneer's General Manager Les Heen will discuss archaeology in Minnesota with former Minnesota state archaeologist Scott Anfinson and Rebecca Dean, associate professor of anthropology at the University of Minnesota in Morris. Originally from Benson, Anfinson was charged with overseeing 3,000 pioneer cemeteries and 12,000 American Indian burial mounds.

"Grassland Jam": 7 p.m. Saturday and repeats at noon Monday; Henhouse Prowlers band from the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival held August 2018 in Richmond.

"Curious George": Pioneer is organizing three events for kids to meet and have pictures taken with Curious George. On June 22 Curious George will be at the Granite Falls Public Library from 10 to 11 a.m. and he will be featured in the Granite Falls Western Fest Parade at 1 p.m. On June 25 Curious George will be at the Willmar Stingers baseball game as part of "Dr. Seuss Night" at the Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar at 5:30 p.m. Free tickets to the game are available by calling 1-800-726-3178.

Donna Middleton started working at the West Central Tribune in 1975 and was the news assistant since 1992. She compiled the arts, health, farm and community page calendars, as well as rewrites and work on the special sections. Donna retired in 2023.
